These APIs make it easier for Interactive Advertising Agencies, Directories and reseller channels to promote UBL under their own brands, gather the data and deliver it to UBL for distribution to all major Search Engines, Internet Yellow Pages, Online Directories, 411 Directory Assistance and Mobile/GPS Navigation devices.
The APIs consist primarily of open-standard forms and database applications that can be easily housed on a partner’s Web site or Intranet and enables the business profile to be assembled in formats that ensure acceptance by publishers. The APIs are available free at UBL’s Partner Program site www.ublpro.com. The APIs include a Category lookup tool that lets the user enter common business descriptions and be shown the appropriate Government-standard NAICS codes that are commonly accepted by publishers and data aggregators. The first released API allows the Agency to use the self-branded form on their site, and has scripts to capture and export the data from their servers. The second API captures the data on UBL’s server and includes account management.
